Patti holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons) in Food, Nutrition and Health; is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia; a member of Dietitians of Canada; has completed a college level personal trainer program and is a certified personal trainer licensed through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists (CSEP CPT). She is the mother of 3 active children and enjoys an active lifestyle, giving her a good understanding of the challenges in maintaining a lifelong healthy lifestyle.
Patti has experience in both private counselling and acute care settings. She has also worked for many years as a certified personal trainer, helping clients incorporate effective and functional exercise into their busy lives. Patti teaches the BCRPA credit approved Nutrition Knowledge for Fitness Professionals Course at Douglas College in New Westminster. She has also done extensive nutritional volunteer work for various sport organizations and in the Downtown Eastside.
Patti takes a proactive approach and promotes preventative healthcare through manageable and realistic nutritional and lifestyle practices. She is personally dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and has developed multiple skills and strategies from a lifetime of healthy practices. Patti’s broad background qualifies her to effectively counsel clients in both preventative healthcare and nutritional management for a variety of diet related health conditions.
Patti’s experience as a personal trainer enables her to work in conjunction with a client’s own personal trainer to enhance results. For clients without a personal trainer, she can incorporate a customized and enjoyable exercise regime to complement your nutritional practices and optimize results. Patti believes that healthy living can be achieved naturally through a balance of good nutritional practices and an active lifestyle, and this position is strongly supported with solid scientific evidence.
